Hey! I'm Aliya,
Most of what you need to know is on the main page. But, if you're here to see details, keep reading.
My background means a lot to me, and to many I am considered a global citizen in that I don't technically connect with the idea of home. I dislike that term though, so for now I am just a nomadic citizen.
Having an Indian background and being raised in Muscat, Oman presented quite a worldly upbringing. With all of that exposure to different cultures, art and architecture I finally left Oman. I was able to keep my head on straight long enough to move to the United States and get my BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in Fiber and Material Studies. Shortly after, I moved to the bay area and graduated with a Masters in Fine Art and Art in Studio Arts + Visual and Critical Studies. Now, I work as an artist and UX designer living in Oakland, California.
